Telkomsel on the Mission X KodingNext Indonesia

Home/ Blog/ Blog Detail

First of all, I would thanks to Allah for all the opportunity that I have, the second one is to Mr. Bart and Telkom that give me and team a chance to teach the people in this event, and all of the team that always support each other.

“Telkomsel on the Mission” is the charity event(so the participant didn’t pay anything for this event) that presents by Telkom to teach the people about the startup world on three cities in East Indonesia and KodingNext as the coding partner is responsible to teach the participant about the technical knowledge of how to make software (base on the web technology) according to their solution to their city for one week. There were three cities that we visited (Manado, Mataram, and Kendari).

1. Manado

Hundreds of participants registered for this event and the atmosphere is very positive, in the opening session is like the seminar, all participant come to the seminar in Grand Kawanua for the greeting message, some inspirational talks, and I’ve got some quotes that memorable for me, the original quote is from Pramoedya Ananta Toer

Presented by Sony Sudaryana (representatives from the Ministry of Communication and Information) at Grand Kawanua
The Picture said: "My world is not the position, rank, salary, and cheating, My world is the human with its problems".

After inspirational talks, then the participant assigned to fill in the online test to pass the next stage, because in the next day until the end of this event, we will do the workshop, in a different place with forty-five participants.

The next day until the end of this event is a workshop class with KodingNext (Me, Rizky, Wizdan, Tama, and Juanda) and Local Mentor (Jetro and Gerald)

3. Kendari

Same as before, the first day is seminar at Graha Pena, I think the memorable things that I have in this kick-off day is when Andreas Senjaya, he amuses the participant to create ten million goodness a day, and I’m very respect this founder because his background is not from the rich family, he grew up the startup from “zero to hero” and he said before you want to make the startup you must validate the market.

So after all the missions in eastern Indonesia were finished, I learned:

1. Be patient

We must be patient when facing the questions they ask because what they ask usually has very high expectations while their abilities do not match their expectations now, we must slowly guide them to help find what they are looking for despite the distance between the lessons they get at that time learning was actually still far for them, so we have to slow down and be patient.

2. Communication

Every city have a unique culture and language, so we must adapt to their cultures and languages.

3. Community

Sure if you have a group of the people that have the same goals to develop your place then you have a chance which triggered them to create a community especially in Kendari.. after we teach here the people in this workshop create a community and they create an official website here http://www.startupkendari.com
